As this is the first version of this page - I have very little here. But I wanted any excuse to show off my pretty pretty flowering orchids! Eventually, I do plan to include somewhat more substance to the site, including the proper latin names of the flowers.
My Sharry Baby (from Chapters.ca during their brief association with that garden centre) has just started flowering for the very first time ever! (I've had it about 2 years) Here's a close up of the first flowers to open on the second spike. It put up 2 spikes this year, the first has allready finished. I hope to follow with a shot of the whole spike in flower in a day or so once all the flowers are open.
This is my Milt. MontereyBayxChrisEllis. I've only had it a year, and it's allready reflowering!! There should have been 3 flowers, but 2 of them somehow got knocked off between forming and flowering.
Unfortunately I can't claim too much credit for this one - A recent purchase - and in bud at that. So only the fact that it's flowering instead of all dried up is my doing (unlike the other Paph. I picked up) So - without delay... Paph. Charles Sladden!
My Masd. peristeria x decumana is at the tail end of flowering - there's this one in flower, one little wee bud yet to come. Another one I can't claim credit for though, bought it this year - with 2 flowering there've been at least 7 so far!
That's it for now. The Onc. Twinkle Has about 7 spikes up - it should be just lovely once they all bloom! Plus, there's a marginal possibility I'll get another flower out of my Paph first? But I'm not holding my breath (I'm also not cutting the stalk till it shrivels up and dies either).
